Chapter 5, “Holding the Ache of Reality”, is composed of my poems about caregiving. Two years ago, I wasn’t sure I had enough poems to make a substantial chapter. Now, I have so many it is hard to keep them organized! As a result, a chapbook (small collection of poems) is percolating in my mind - I’d like to create a physical place where they can all be together. Most chapbooks are printed by publishers, but being an artist, I want to shape the reader’s visual experience of the chapbook as well. I’d like it to be a small piece of art you can hold in your hands. Interested?

“Compelling, heartbreaking, and uplifting, these deeply personal tales by family caregivers are powerful and timely, given the rapidly aging global population. Part roadmap, part support group, this book is an invaluable companion for those who, at great cost, take on the noblest of sacrifices with courage, love, and humility.”
– Steve Lopez, award-winning journalist, Los Angeles Times Golden State columnist, and author of the New York Times bestselling The Soloist and Independence Day.
