My Story, in Art

The experience of emotional abuse, expressed through art and poetry.

“Afraid”, The Perspectacles Collection

2009-2021

25 mixed media sculptures the size and shape of eyeglasses that explore the ways we see/don’t see. They are presented in reverse chronological order. In particular, “Huh?” and its accompanying poem capture the confusion created by emotional abuse.

The Hidden Art Journal

This altered book was reserved for raw feelings that had nowhere else to go, hidden away because it was not safe for these pages to be visible. There was something redemptive about secretly turning abuse into art. 8 images plus detail shots. Kinda intense, FYI.
